Everything else Matlab, R, Eclipse, emacs, lots of compilers for C/C++/Scala/Erlang, etc works just as fortunately on Linux as matlab does on Windows or Mac, so for me matlab incontrovertible fact that there aren’t any truly great Linux only laptop apps is an irrelevance. I’m not disputing what you’re saying with respect to matlab complexity that incorporates alternative alternatives on matlab Linux computing device, but I do recall Miguel talking in matlab past about matlab need for Gnome to keep legacy APIs in place in order that purposes written years ago can still run with out modification today. Perhaps his point was that Gnome is engineering moving target. I do recall Miguel speaking in matlab past about matlab need for Gnome to keep legacy APIs in place in order that applications written years ago can still run without modification today.
